Exhibit: Celebration of Black History Month by artist Billy Williams. weekdays 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Feb. 16 to March 9, 2010, Art Gallery, K-State Student Union. William's exhibit reflects his thoughts, ideas, and experiences of the African American culture by incorporating an array of faces, silhouettes, colorful details, and hybrid elements. Sponsored by the Union Program Council.
Faculty Artist: David Littrell, Cello. 3 p.m., St. PaulÕs Episcopal Church, 601 Poyntz. Sponsored by the Department of Music.
Theater: The Hotel Casablanca. 2:30 p.m., Nichols Theatre. Set in Texas in 1948, this hilarious opera follows Tom and Tallulah Carter, wealthy owners of the Double T Ranch, and the many guests of the ranch. Supposed identities and attempted revenge fill this opera, based on the farce "A Flea in Her Ear" by Feydeau. The Hotel Casablanca will be directed by Reginald Pittman, director of the KSU Opera program. Buy tickets online or call the Box office at 532-6428. Presented by K-State Theatre.

Lecture: Preventing Violence by Dr. David Lisak. 1 p.m., Forum Hall, K-State Student Union. Lisak is an associate professor of psychology at the University of Massachusetts Boston. He will present his findings on violence against women on college campuses.

Most people are curious about the weather. It affects almost everything we do. This workshop will present information on our weather patterns and what you can expect. Kansas weather can be severe. It is important that you understand the terminology and the warnings and you know how to prepare for possible damaging weather. Be sure to bring your families as they too should be informed about the weather. Presented by: Mary Knapp, an associate agronomist with K-State Research and Extension and state climatologist.
